BYPASS is an acronym for “Bhopal Yuwa Paryavaran Shikshan & Samajik Sansthan”. The core philosophy of the organization contained in five words of ‘Yuwa Paryavaran Shikshan & Samajik Sansthan’. This organization is keen to bring in young, well-educated and committed people for undertaking ‘Paryavaran Shikshan’ which actually meant hands on learning through implementation of community led natural resource management and environmental education. The organization also intended to accelerate the universalisation of elementary education of comparable quality by strengthening mainstream education system. The latter part of BYPASS stands for ‘Samajik Sansthan’, or a socially responsible and answerable organization. BYPASS envisioned mobilizing the disadvantaged community groups through effective and responsible grassroots institutions or CBOs by engaging them in governance, NRM, self-help, and skill up gradation and livelihoods promotion. 
BYPASS stands to uphold the mission of human resource development, particularly of socially marginalized and disadvantaged communities. It follows strategies: 1) Awareness/Knowledge Building, 2) Promoting Community based Institutions, 3) promoting, strengthening voluntary/self-help efforts, in concert with espoused values. BYPASS focuses on imparting relevant information-education to thematic CBOs, grooming them through appropriate means to avail presented opportunities in various spheres of development.

BYPASS exists to facilitate creation of opportunities of gainful development for the community especially vulnerable sections, ensuring enriched environment, sustainable livelihood, improved quality of life and good human values.
